Gilbert Gomez

I've known Gilber Gomez for a year now, and he's a pretty cool guy! Some might call him a ladies man, a basketball phenom or as I call him plain old Gilbert. Gilbert has become one of my top friends to play basketball with, we just like to tease eachother and try to get in echothers mind. He's just a really fun guy to play basketball with!

Both of us are really competetive, we both love the game as do other basketball players! Some do it for fun and others just because it might be a fun sport to play; But we do it for the love of the game.

Cameron Volk

Cameron Volk is also a friend of mine. We might not be real close friends but we sort of hang in there. Well Cameron and I met during the Tucson High summer basketball team try-outs (ofcourse we both made it along with other comrades)! But before that we sort of met in this one 3 on 3 basketball tournament, him and his team beat us for the championship. Then, who knew that we'd be playing together in the same team? Well as destiny had it there we were (in the same team).

But, theres more to him just being a basketball star, but he is also a football star. For football he plays the QB (Quarter Back) position, and for basketball he plays the PG (Point Guard) position. His dad is not only a dad but he sort of reminds me of like Camerons personnal coach! Anyways he's cool, but me and Cameron have gotten along pretty well over this past year (thank god for that)! To wrap it all up I'm just going to say that he is an awesome basketball player.

James Molina

James Molina was one of my besdt friends last year at Roskruge Midlle School. This year since he's still attending Roskruge and I'm attending Tucson High, I dont really have too much time to talk to him or play ball with him anymore. Last year and this year he got the MVP trophy for the basketball team. I really don't know what the team would've done without him!

He plays for the club team Tucson Titans and played for Desert Storm in the past. He quit Desert Storm because the coach yelled alot and made everyone run the plas in practice like robots. His dad was a former basketball star in his early years just like both his sons James Molina and his Brother "juju". Juju is attending Davis elementary for now, but when he goes to Middle School he'll be attending Roskruge.

Mitchell Mendivil

This here is my brother, hes got talent but doesn't like to use it. He could easily play basketball but he says that he doesnt like playing it, and only likes watching it. But here and there he goes with me to the park and practice on his handles here and there. Him being a 6th grader is pretty good, he can shoot, he stands at 5 feet 6 inches, and hes pretty strong at the post.

He surtainly has talent, but he says that he would play if a coach asks him to play for them. The only team he would like to play for is Tucson Spartans because he says everyone is awesome there. Well It's pretty much true and well I called the soach for them and still no answer from them. I'ts all good though, he still practices sometimes but he is way too cocky for his own good. I say he's going to get beat up for talking so much smack to everyone!

Tucson Oro

Well this surtain team is a pretty young one but dont count them out when playing them! This particular team only has an 8th and 9th grade team, and some of the 8th graders sometimes play with us freshmen during tournaments. Practices for some are easy or for others they're real intense (I think they aren't intense at all). Gilbert R. Luna Jr. is the main coach for the team.

Well he might not be the greatest coach of all but he hangs there and tries to balance things out with all the players relationships. He has helped me out a lot by paying for my tournaments and all becasue he knows that I can't afford to pay for every tournament we go to. So all I have to say to him is keep up the good work, make the practices more intense and thank you for helping not only me and other teammates out.

Sama Taku

Sama Taku is a real G at basketball! I mean I see him play and that just pumps me up like crazy! I mean his clean shot and dunks, man those are awesome! Well he is now a senior at Tucson High and plays for some teams named Tucson Pump N' Run,Tucson Spartans, and ofcourse Tucson High. Not only is he my friend but he's also like my brother from another mother, he makes me want to keep on going in basketball and practice til' I can be as good or even better.

Well he also went to Roskruge for middle school and played for the team there and the coach Dale Lopez. When he was in middle school in Roskruge I was just a little kid in elementary attending the same school (Roskruge is a k-8 school). I remember those good old days when I thought he looked like a beast compared to me! But now I'm almost as tall as him which is good for me. Don't get me wrong or anything, I still think he's a beast compared to me.

Sama Taku not only a great baller so to say but also a great student with a 3.8 GPA. Yes I know, it sounds really high but he has accomplished that. Here is a video of one of his games and highlights of that game. So watch and enjoy :-) He is Number 11 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqDV8w34HMs

Miguel Mendivil

Yes, first I am going to write about myself! Since It's me of course I am going to say that I'm a good basketball player, but in the real world I actually am a good baller. Years of experience in basketball would be 2 years going to 3 in my sophomore year. When I first got interested in basketball was when i saw people playing on the school courts. So then I joined in and played on the Roskruge Middle School basketball team.

We were pretty descent we won the pre-season tournament and got first in our region, 3rd in the TUSD city basketball tournament, made it to state and got a nice and solid 3rd place (in state). 8th grade was the first time I ever played basketball in a team. That same season I averaged 8.7 PPG (point per game) and 9 RPG (Rebounds Per Game). Which was pretty darn amazing for my first year and being a rookie and all!

During my freshmen year I was a starter for the Tucson High Badgers freshmen basketball team. I averaged 10.2 PPG and 11 RPG. At the end of the season I was very proud of myself for getting so much better and for working hard. Next year during my sophomore year I will tryout for varsity and will try my hardest and will do whatever I can in my ability to make it!

Getting Started

Well hello everyone! My name is Miguel Mendivil and I am a freshmen at Tucson High Magnet School. I don't know if I should even do this but I am finally 15; I'm pretty darn proud of myself! Sometimes my friends say that I make no sense at all; it may be true but im still pretty smart and articulate. I'm quiet, tall, awesome and look like a stoner (that's what i've been told before, and even by some cop dudes who thought I was on drugs or something)!

Then, they told me that if I watched "Dude Where's My Car?" more than 3 times, then I'm an official stoner (I've watched that movie more than 5 times and it gets funnier everytime I watch it) well i guess that im an official stoner! Those were good times though. But now let's talk more seriously! This blogg that I'm making will be about basket-ball players and teams all around the sweet city of Tucson - including me. (and I've never gotten hi or anything)!
